GAMAC names new executive director

Anderson, SC — The Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium (GAMAC) is proud to announce the appointment of Kylie Herbert as its new executive director. A longtime advocate for the arts, a skilled nonprofit leader, and a passionate musician, Herbert brings a dynamic blend of experience, creativity, and community spirit to the role.

A member of the Anderson Symphony Orchestra for two decades, Herbert understands firsthand the power of music to connect, heal, and inspire. “Music is a powerful force,” she says. “It brings people together, tells stories, and makes a positive impact on lives. I’m honored to lead an organization that celebrates this every day.”

Herbert most recently served as development director for Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County, raising awareness and funds for affordable homeownership. Prior to that, she spent more than a decade in journalism at the Anderson Independent Mail, where she championed local storytelling and community engagement.

Her deep roots in the Anderson community are reflected in her extensive volunteer service. She is a past president of the Rotary Club of Anderson, an alumna of Leadership Anderson Class 32, and serves on the boards of Junior Leadership Anderson and the South Main Chapel & Mercy Center, where she is also a lay minister.

Herbert holds a BA in print journalism with a minor in mathematics from Ithaca College. Her background in communications, fundraising, and leadership uniquely positions her to guide GAMAC into an exciting new chapter of growth and community impact.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kylie,” GAMAC Board President David Pressley shared. “Her passion for music, dedication to community, and proven leadership skills make her the ideal person to lead GAMAC into the future.”
