GAMAC Girl Choir

The GAMAC Girl Choir was invited to perform at the Piccolo Spoleto Youth Music Festival in Charleston, SC on May 23 at the historic Second Presbyterian Church. Selected out of a pool of several hundred applicants from throughout the Southeast, the Girl Choir’s performance was part of the annual 17 day international arts festival.
Founded in 2003 with a mission to enable talented young women to develop their voices under the auspices of professional voice educators, the Girl Choir is comprised of girls in grades 3-8. Under the direction of Deedy Francis, Assistant Professor of Music at Anderson University, the choir is the largest and most well known among GAMAC’s choral ensembles for children and young adults.
“We are so proud that the Girl Choir’s hard work and talent are being recognized in this wonderful way, “said GAMAC Executive Director, Dana Gencarelli. “It gives us a chance to showcase Anderson’s commitment to music education throughout the state.”
