GAMAC Girl Choir
Deirdre Francis is an Assistant Professor of Music at Anderson University. She received the Associate of Fine Arts degree in Music from Anderson College, the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Furman University and the Mast of Music degree from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. At Westminstershe was a member of the world-renowned Westminster Choir. At AU, Ms. Francis teachers voice majors and minors vocal pedagogy, class voice, vocal diction and is the conductor of the Anderson University Choir. Ms. Francis’ voice students from both her collegiate and private studios have earned honors at the state and regional level at the National Association of Teachers of Singing annual auditions. Ms. Francis for many years, both as a singer and teachers, has focused on Contemporary Commercial singing, studying, researching and practicing extensively. Thus, as a soprano, she is equally at home on the operatic/oratorio, recital and musical theatre stage. Ms. Francis is in demand as a choral clinician, Honor Choir conductor and choral adjudicator. She currently serves as Vice-President of the SC Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She and Alan, her husband of twenty wonderful years, have three beautiful children, Blakely 12(a member of the Girl Choir), Evan 8 and Lydia 6.
