An accomplished pianist as well as vocalist and conductor, Dr. Hamilton offers a wealth of musical expertise to GAMAC. In addition to conducting the GAMAC Chorale, she is also on the music faculty of Furman University and holds the position of Principal Keyboard with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Hamilton has been a singer in the Robert Shaw Institute Festival Singers where she had the opportunity to work with Robert Shaw, and has also studied conducting with Dan Lewis and Edvard Tchivzhel. She has worked as a professional accompanist in Boston, Massachusetts and throughout South Carolina. Dr. Hamilton has had the opportunity to work with choirs at Simmons College, Emerson College, the University of South Carolina and Clemson University. Her teaching experience also includes experience teaching in the Boston public schools as well as Oconee and Greenville County public schools in South Carolina.

She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of South Carolina, her Masters degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and her Bachelor of Music degree from Furman University. She is a former president of the South Carolina American Choral Directors Association.
