The GAMAC Guild

The GAMAC Guild is a group of volunteers who play a critical role in the success of The Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium. The purpose of the Guild is to assist GAMAC through events and services which provide promotional, educational and financial support. Whether you enjoy ushering at concerts, planning our Overtures Pre-Concerts Dinners & Lectures, working on mailings or assisting with our education projects, the GAMAC Guild has a special place for you!

2011-2012 Projects

Scholarships
Each year the Guild provides scholarship assistance to a talented young person in grades 3-12 who wishes to participate in one of the Children’s Choral Music ensembles offered by GAMAC. This support insures that no talented child is denied the opportunity to receive professional music instruction due to an inability to pay tuition. The Guild has donated $1,500 in scholarship funds this year.

The GAMAC Golden Ticket
With music education as an integral part of the GAMAC mission, the Guild partners with local schools to provide “Golden Ticket” vouchers redeemable for complimentary concert tickets to students in grades 3-12. Guild volunteers assist by delivering GAMAC souvenier mugs and water-bottles to area teachers filled with “Golden Tickets” for students!

Overtures Dinners & Lectures
The Guild presents 3 pre-concert dinners & lectures during the Masterworks Series. Held in the Vandiver Gallery at Anderson University, these events include a dinner and a professional musician’s guide to the music, making each dinner guest an “insider” at the concert. Guild members receive special discounts on Overtures reservations. Volunteers are needed to help with planning and decorating for these events.

Concert Ushering
GAMAC Guild members are often called upon to serve as ushers for GAMAC concert events! It’s easy! It’s fun! And, it’s a great way to meet new friends who share your love of music!
